Amy

Licensed Veterinary Technician

Amy is a Licensed Veterinary Technician who joined Mountainside Animal Hospital in April 2026 and brings 13 years of experience in veterinary medicine, beginning her career in 2012. She is passionate about patient care and values the strong team mentality and positive atmosphere that make Mountainside such a special place to work.

Amy has a special love for cats, opossums, and elephants, and enjoys the variety and connection that comes with working with both patients and their families. One of her favorite patient memories involves a husky who escaped from a vehicle and was later found helping herself to treats at a local pet store — thanks to a microchip, she was safely reunited with her relieved owners.

Outside of work, Amy enjoys attending concerts, following true crime, watching stand-up comedy, participating in feline rescue and adoption, playing Pokémon Go, and spending time with friends and family. She also has a custom outdoor cat enclosure at home, affectionately called “The Catararium.”

Amy shares her home with four cats: Decker Thunderclaws, a mitted tabby who loves batting around dry spaghetti noodles; Otis Munchlax, a longhaired black cat with a love for Churu treats; Maevis Silva Peach, a sweet three-legged tortie; and Clara “the terror” Eris, a spirited black smoke tabby.

Her favorite fictional character is Teddy from Bob’s Burgers, and if she could have any animal as a pet, she would choose a Virginia opossum for its unique and underappreciated nature. Her favorite quote is, “Be yourself; everyone else is already taken.” — Oscar Wilde.
